On Thursday, August 15, 2024, GPHW proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting for the new kayak launch at Hadley’s Portage, located at the Wausau Dam. This launch is an exciting addition to our waterway, offering both locals and visitors an accessible entry point to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Wisconsin River.
The event was hosted by The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce, marking a significant milestone in our efforts to enhance outdoor recreation opportunities in the region. The celebration was a gathering of community members, local officials, and waterway enthusiasts who came together to witness this moment.
The new kayak launch at Hadley’s Portage is a key part of GPHW’s ongoing mission to improve and expand access to the water, making it easier and more enjoyable for everyone to experience the joys of paddling.
