We have included several downloadable paddling guides to help you plan your trip. The guides feature water trail maps as well as information on the river, rapids, portages, wildlife and scenery you will encounter on your paddle along the Great Pinery Heritage Waterway. We have also included our official Great Pinery Paddle Guide in that offers you the highlights of each river segment, a detailed river map, mile markers, GIS locators, which side of the river portages are located on along with handy wildlife tips for your enjoyment. All the paddle guides will make a good trip better in shared insights from professional paddlers on what’s up around the bend!

Paddling and weather apps offer a myriad of useful functions and information for all river-related activities and easily downloaded. They can include water levels and flow, trail maps, safety tips, river hazards, weather, along with giving your precise location to an emergency responder in case of a river accident. The ones on our website and at the landing kiosk signage are free to download with versions working working on virtually all smart phone platforms. We highly recommed downloading an app or two prior to taking your trip so that you can review water conditions and weather, giving you peace of mind when paddling. They can make the difference between a trip from heaven or one from hell.

No Glass on the Wisconsin River

It is illegal to have glass on the Wisconsin River. If you are caught, the DNR will fine you up to $749.
